Pilosopo Anecdotes: The Jeepney Ride Diaries

I was on my way to work... (Route: San Pablo City to Calamba City) I rode a jeepney and paid 32 pesos for the fare. I sat three seats behind the drive.. There sat a young lady, a middle-aged guy and myself. Then out of nowhere I overheard the middle-aged guy talking to the young lady...

Middle-Aged Guy: Miss, san ka po bababa?
Young Lady: Sa college po...
Middle-Aged Guy: (Extending his arm that held a cellphone)... Pedeng mahingi ang number mo?
Young lady: Naku, hindi po ako nagbibigay ng number kuya...
Middle-Aged Guy: Ah.. okey..

After some time, I noticed the guy still asking the lady for her number... I thought, "Hindi rin makulit si kuya ah..."

And then the guy's phone rang..

Middle-Aged Guy: Hello! Yes Sir!... Papunta na po ako... Nandito na ko sa.... (turned to me and asked "Pre, san na nga ba 'to?" Then I answered, "Bay na po..." and the guy turned back to his phone) Bay na ko... Sige sige.. Pasabi na lang kay gov papunta na ko dyan..

He suddenly turned to the lady again and said, "May meeting ako ngayon kay gov eh.. Sa crossing calamba..." Hindi naman halata sa kanya na nagpapaimpress sya... Then he asked for the young lady's number again, "Sige na... number lang naman eh..." But the lady still refused...

The phone rings again and the scene was just like the same.. he turned to me asking the where we were and I answered again briefly... then he cut the call and then turned to me again...

"May meeting ako ngayon kay gov eh.. Sa crossing calamba..."

I thought to myself, "Kukunin mo din ba number ko kuya?"

All the while, I really am amazed to how this guy kept on asking the young lady's number. He gave his phone in such a way that the young lady would not see his phone's wallpaper. You know? The display showed the contacts list already and not the wallpaper... Hmmm.... I thought that there's something wrong here. And I was right. I learned later that his wallpaper was a picture of another girl!

Wicked isn't it?!! Hahaha...

I have no doubt that he was indeed a government official... Right? *laughs*

Luckily the young lady never gave that guy her number...

Kung hindi, malamang pagsisisihan nya yun... :)
